For this work, we'll build on the successes of our Sailboat and Kite project to create our own unique art project.

The first document attached below includes the grading rubric and some helpful links for our last major grade project. In class this week, we'll be working on it, applying the Algebra principles we've learned this year, and even previewing concepts for Geometry next year. Good luck, team, we're almost there.

Some notes:
If you are in ISS, DAEP, or home this week, you should focus on this project.
To save and title your work so you can turn it in, click the three bars in the top left of your Desmos page (second attached link, below). Log in with Google, then click "Save" and title your work with your first name and the word "Project."
To turn in your work, you will locate the "Share Graph" button on the black, top bar of your Desmos project. You'll "Copy" that link, then paste that text here in the Google Classroom as a link (see third and fourth attachments below, image and link, for more help).
If you've missed class (or you're in ISS) during the week of 9-13 May, here's what we're up to. You'll want to print out a piece of graph paper linked below, or you may use any other graph paper you find, setting your (0,0) at the center.
Hi team: This was your week to take standardized tests. I've been thinking about you all, and I hope you did well on the Algebra 1 and Biology exams. After a final review session with 6-8th periods on Monday, we have watched a movie during our shorter classes together. There's a grade replacement opportunity we've been working on (attached in case you missed class). Turn this in to me by Tuesday afternoon if you'd like to take advantage of the offer. Make sure the math problem is attempted on one side, and narrative is added to the other. You did not need to view the movie to react to these questions.

Hope you all have a good weekend. We'll be working on short-term projects for the next three weeks. These provide a way to build skill at the things we've learned, and could even set you up for success early in Geometry. Stay tuned, there's only three weeks to go.
Today we'll finish notes in the pink packet, and you'll receive a notes key for the entire year as a reference (attached).

After, we'll play a bingo game to review. We're almost there. Eat well and rest well (get good sleep) between now and Tuesday's STAAR test to maximize your mental focus and clarity. I care about you; this is a perfect week to practice your best self-care.
Today we will review the rules for working with Exponents. We'll warmup with four released STAAR questions, then take brief notes (pink packet), and then do a whiteboard activity as a group meant to build your speed and comfort with doing problems like these.

If you are at home or away from class (ISS, DAEP), you should be completing 2 pages of each of the colored worksheets (pink and a green) each time you miss class.
Today we are taking a 20 question practice STAAR test that I will grade like the STAAR test grades (a good thing for you, > 50% = pass). This is a major grade.

If you are at home, you will have a 0 missing grade in the gradebook as a major grade. You need to complete your test during next week, before we take the real thing on 3 May. At home you should be completing 2 pages of each of the colored worksheets (pink and a green) each time you miss class.
