TSIA2: Preparing Students for College Readiness

Getting a Head Start Through Pirate P-TECH

Students participating in the Pirate P-TECH Academy Summer Bridge were given dedicated time to prepare for and take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2). This opportunity allowed several students to successfully complete one or more portions of the TSIA2 before the school year even began—giving them a valuable head start toward college readiness and dual credit opportunities.

A More Structured Plan for 2026–2027

For the 2026–2027 school year, RFHS has also developed a more structured TSIA2 preparation and testing plan designed to provide students with meaningful preparation before they test. Rather than simply offering testing opportunities, the plan intentionally connects classroom preparation, targeted support, and scheduled testing opportunities throughout the school year.

Our goal is to ensure students understand the importance of the TSIA2, have opportunities to prepare, and are given multiple pathways to demonstrate college readiness.
