Today is a workday. You will focus on the last section of the Ocean Acidification lab report and paper.
Below you will find the document you will turn in after today's work in groups. You can use a paper version if you choose!!
1. One person in your group will make a folder in google drive and share it with everyone.
2. You will put all the pictures and work documents in here so everyone has access to eachother's work.
3. Today, you will focus on researching 3 solutions to Ocean Acidification
a. Explain the solution.
b. Explain how the solution helps ocean acidification.
c. Describe how we can convince humans to do this solution (be creative on this one!! What do YOU think will work help?)
4. Decide as a group if you will communicate these three solutions as:
a. part of the paper in paragraphs and pictures
b. or as a poster
c. or as a trifold pamphlet
d. or as a video that you all make
5. Design the outline, layout, or storyboard for this section of the project.

First thing - we will do ROOT WORDS: Estuar, Sal, Brac (german root)
--- IF YOU ARE ABSENT, do the google slides below following the directions for root words as if you were in class. This is part of a grade!
WATCH today's video lesson: https://youtu.be/LDXnkecTiCM
Today's assignments are following a program designed by Texas A&M and other partners that use video and a game to teach us about our estuaries! This region is called the Coastal Bend and we are smack dab in the middle!
You will go to a website and watch videos and answer questions. You will also play an oyster reef building game to figure out what oysters need for salinity in order to be successful.
Follow the directions on the assignments. WATCH the video lesson and I orient you to the website and what I expect you to complete!
Enjoy getting to know your area....

This video shows you how to take a screenshot with a chromebook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSIa_pqjyZs
1. DO the QOD FIRST!!!
2. Go through the climate project slides. They teach us about what climate is and how we look at climate data.
3. At the end of the slides, there is a description of what is expected of you for the Climate Project.
4. You will complete a description of the climate for Rockport AND one other city in the world. It will be in the form of slides (you will need at least 3 for each city/region) or you can make a poster in another app you like (Canva.com, Adobe Spark), you could also make it into a movie if you wish. If you want to make a physical poster you can as well and take a picture of it. Each slide show or poster should include this information for each city:
a. Type of Climate - description of what it is like throughout the year in terms of temperatures and rainfall.
b. Climograph - graph with average rainfall in inches by month overlayed with temperatures in degrees F - you
can find this on the websites above - take a screen shot and crop the picture when it is in the slide.
c. Latitude and Longitude of the city.
d. Key Features - bays, beaches, mountains, what physical features are present in the landscape.
e. Extreme weather in the area (what extreme events are possible in the area)
f. Annual high temperature
g. Annual low temperature
h. Average Precipitation
i. Images - make these slides or posters attractive with images!!
Websites to find climate information: For the US: https://www.usclimatedata.com/ and For the world: https://en.climate-data.org/ - you can use any others as well, but put in the slides or poster which sites you used!
