Course Description

This Rockport-Fulton High School welding program is designed to provide job-specific training for entry-level employment in welding careers. Utilizing some of the most up-to-date equipment, the students learn different welding and cutting processes. Instruction includes; Industrial Shop Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Blueprint reading, Shielding Metal Arc Welding (SMAW),  Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Oxy-Fuel Cutting, Plasma Arc Cutting, Carbon Arc Gouging, and learn to run a CNC Plasma cutting system. While the students are in the program, they have the opportunity to acquire certifications through the National Center for Construction Education & Research. This program is designed to prepare students for life after high school in an industrial trade field and creates a pathway to further their education and skills through the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend.
