About Me:

Hello! 😊 I'm Robert Young, a math teacher at Rockport Fulton High School.

 

I normally teach Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, and sometimes Geometry. My teaching philosophy centers on valuing effort over perfection. I believe that my classroom is a training ground for adulthood, and many of my rules and operations reflect this. Mistakes are not only allowed but encouraged, as they are a vital part of the learning process. I often tell my students that learning math is like a toddler learning to walk—stumbles and falls are part of the journey to mastering it.

A person who works hard to accomplish a goal is priceless, and I strive to nurture that mindset in my students.

On a personal note, I am a father of three—two daughters and a son who is the youngest. I am married to a wonderfully supportive wife, without whom I wouldn't be the person I am today. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
