Welcome to My Page!

Salutations, and thank you for visiting! My name is Michelle Christner, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Choirs for the Rockport-Fulton Choir Department. I am beginning my 23rd year as a music educator and my fourth year serving Rockport-Fulton ISD. It is a privilege to continue building the Rockport-Fulton choir program and serving this incredible community.

I hold dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. During my time at the university, I had the extraordinary opportunity to perform alongside legendary artists including Louie Bellson, Arturo Sandoval, Marvin Stamm, Peter Erskine, and the iconic rock group Heart. One of the highlights of my musical journey was performing at Carnegie Hall with the Master’s Chorus of Corpus Christi under the direction of Dennis Richardson.

I am truly honored to call Rockport-Fulton home and cherish every opportunity to work with our students. My goal is to rebuild the historic Rockport-Fulton Choir program into the powerhouse it once was while developing confident, passionate, and well-rounded young musicians. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I believe the best is still ahead. With the support of our students, parents, colleagues, and community, we will continue to grow, excel, and make our choir program something special!

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, fishing, hunting, hiking, barbecuing, and competing in Cowboy Action Shooting. I am also a professional Mariachi musician and have played guitarrón for more than 35 years. I am honored to serve First Baptist Church of Rockport as Interim Minister of Worship.

I reside in Fulton with my mother and my two beloved cats, Giulia and Bella. I am grateful for the opportunity to live, serve, teach, and make music in this wonderful community!
