About Me

Hello! My name is Coach Kelly Black and I am excited to start my first year in Rockport. I am a graduate of Lubbock Christian University ("93). This year I will be in the CTE Department, teaching Human Growth and Development and Principles of Education Training. I am coaching football where I will be the Defensive Coordinator, and will also be an assistant basketball and track and field coach. This will be my 32nd year in education. I have been married to my lovely wife Lisa, for 28 years and together we have raised 2 boys. Our oldest, Austin, who will be starting his second year as a teacher and a coach, will also be a first-year RFHS Pirate. Derek, our youngest, will be starting his Junior year at the University of Texas, where he is majoring in Sports Administration, and is an equipment manager for the football team.
