About Me
Señora Castillo enters her 19th year at RFHS for Rockport-Fulton ISD. She currently teaches Spanish 1 & 2.
She has taught Spanish, along with guiding students as Spanish Club advisor and as an after-school mentor during past ACE after-school programs, and coaching the academic Challenge! team. She has overseen computer labs for students in credit recovery and dual credit courses. She has also taught Summer School courses and coached the dance team as Emeralds director. As a past member of the RFHS Site-Based Decision Making committee, she helped establish a contemporary college and career center to help students prepare for future readiness.
She encourages students and colleagues to join her in community service as she helps plan and host local events such as Rockport-Fulton SeaFair (50th Anniversary Celebration in 2025), Rockport's Crawfish Cook-off & Tasting, and additional music festivals designed to raise funds for community and youth organizations.
In addition to completing a graduate fellowship as a teen at Ohio University in Athens, she earned a BA from Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State University) with a double major in Public Relations-Journalism and Spanish. Along with working in corporate communications, she has worked part-time and as a volunteer for SWT, Dallas ISD, and Refugio ISD. She was also part of the student staff at SWT as a paraprofessional counselor, private tutor, Upward Bound mentor, Athletics study hall tutor, freshman orientation presenter, and teacher facilitator.
With much love and pride, she has raised three children. All are RFHS honor graduates, with one now a Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi honor graduate and two studying at Texas A&M University - College Station.
Expectations & Encouragements: 1) Be respectful. 2) Be responsible.
