About Me

Señora Castillo has taught 17 years at RFHS for Rockport-Fulton ISD. She currently teaches Spanish 1 & 2 and advises the RFHS Spanish Club. She is also coaching the academic Challenge! team.
 
She has taught Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 courses, along with guiding students as Spanish Club advisor and during past ACE after school programs. She has overseen computer labs for students in credit recovery and dual credit courses. She has also taught Summer School courses and coached the dance team as Emeralds director. As a past member of the RFHS Site-Based Decision Making committee, she helped establish a contemporary college and career center to help students with future readiness.
 
She encourages students and colleagues to join her in community service as she helps plan and host local events such as Rockport-Fulton SeaFair, Rockport's Crawfish Cook-off & Tasting, and additional music festivals designed to raise funds for community and youth organizations. In addition to completing a graduate fellowship as a teen at Ohio University in Athens, she earned a BA from Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State University) with a double major in Journalism-Public Relations and Spanish. Along with working in corporate communications, she has worked part-time and as a volunteer for SWT, Dallas ISD, and Refugio ISD. She resides in Rockport with her husband and her family. With much love and pride, she has raised three children. Two daughters are RFHS graduates, with one now a Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi graduate and one studying at Texas A&M University - College Station. She also has a daughter completing her senior year at RFHS.
